Rich began his real estate appraisal career in 2003 as a licensed appraiser trainee under his father, Al Pfister.  After acquiring thousands of hours of commercial/industrial appraisal experience, Rich was licensed in 2007 by the State of Indiana as a Certified General Appraiser.  Rich worked with the company until 2009 at which time he and his family moved to Haiti where Rich served in a variety of management positions for Loving Shepherd Ministries and Hospital Lumiere.  Rich and his family moved back to Bluffton in the fall of 2013 and Rich rejoined the appraiser staff.  Rich has experience in a variety of property types: Commercial (office, retail, restaurants, shopping centers), Industrial (manufacturing, warehouse), Multi-family (apartments, mobile home parks), Special Purpose (retail fuel/convenience stores, churches, self-storage facilities, hotels, meat processing), Agricultural (row crop land), Vacant Land (commercial, industrial, development), and Eminent Domain (partial & full takings).  Rich has experience in large scale assignments by acting as the lead appraiser in the portfolio valuation of over 100 gas stations located in northern Indiana, southern Michigan, and western Ohio.

2000: Graduated from Purdue University with an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology

1998 – 2002: Worked for Meyer Building Corporation as a building design engineer as well as a sales representative

2002 – 2003: Served at Gateway Woods Children’s Home as a houseparent

2003 – 2006: Licensed Appraiser Trainee working for Complete Appraisal Services

2007 – 2008: Licensed Certified General Appraiser working for Complete Appraisal Services

2009 – 2011: In-country Representative for Loving Shepherd Ministries in Haiti

2012 – 2013: Served as the Director of Operations for Hospital Lumiere in Haiti

2014 – present: Resumed commercial real estate appraising career and became Vice President of Complete Appraisal Services in 2019
